OnePIN® Creates Online Community for Baruch College Zicklin School
of Business
OnePIN Supports Baruch’s Strategic Direction of
Enhancing Alumni Service by Providing a Turnkey Communication and Collaboration
Infrastructure
WESTBOROUGH, MA, August 19, 2004 - OnePIN, Inc., the market leader in
group management solutions, today announced that Baruch College Zicklin School
of Business has incorporated the OnePIN Group Management System to enhance its
online community for its alumni. Baruch College Zicklin School of Business is
the largest business school in the USA, and one of the most academically
prestigious. The Zicklin School of Business is situated in the heart of
Manhattan, the center of global business. The Zicklin School of Business offers
undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs, featuring the 14th ranked
part-time MBA, a new accelerated part-time MBA, and a new, highly selective
full-time MBA program.
Chris Koutsoutis, Administrative Director of Executive Programs, anticipates
viral growth of web-based communications among alumni using the OnePIN
solution. “As our programs have grown, our alumni have developed a growing
sense of community and pride in the Baruch College Zicklin School of Business
experience. OnePIN is helping us reconnect alumni with each other and their
university, creating a dynamic online network for alumni no matter where they
live or work.”
One of the Zicklin EMBA Program’s strategic directions is process improvement.
They believed they needed to improve the way they connect with alumni and to
develop a way in which the alumni’s contact information (name change, address,
phone, email, company, etc.) is automatically updated. OnePIN is used to
organize their alumni into a variety of groups, initially segmented in year of
graduation and major. All alumni have been added with additional emphasis on
those that were not currently accounted for. Within the first month of
implementation, 35% of the alumni activated their OnePIN account. In addition,
the OnePIN solution has helped increase the known addresses of its alumni by
33%. These are individuals that the Zicklin School of Business had “lost” as
they moved toward an online (email) community.
Jeff Schiebe, Vice President of OnePIN, says that creating an online network is
a fast way to build a sense of community among alumni, faculty and staff.
“Baruch College Zicklin School of Business understands the importance of
reaching alumni online where they work. OnePIN’s data security and usability
combined with the opportunity to connect and reconnect with other Baruch
College alums online, will make this network a popular, fast growing choice for
personal and professional communication and collaboration.”
