OnePIN® Announces Safe Harbor Re-certification and Re-affirms its Commitment to its Customer’s Privacy and Security

OnePIN Continues its Leadership in Protecting its Customers by Re-certifying its EU Safe Harbor Principles

WESTBOROUGH, MA, November 18, 2004 - OnePIN Inc., the leading provider of group and contact management solutions, announced today that it has re-certified its compliance with the European Union Safe Harbor data privacy principles to the U.S. Department of Commerce. TRUSTe, an independent non-profit organization dedicated to monitoring Internet privacy standards, has reviewed OnePIN's practices and awarded it the TRUSTe EU Safe Harbor Privacy Seal. OnePIN's re-certification ensures its ability to engage in uninterrupted data transactions with individuals and businesses in the European Community and further indicates OnePIN's dedication to setting leadership standards on privacy, security and protection of confidential data.

"Achieving Safe Harbor re-certification reinforces OnePIN's belief that privacy and data/information security is of utmost concern. Our customers expect their critical contact information to be held confidential and will only be released when and to whom the customer decides," said Jeff Schiebe, Business Development Vice President, OnePIN. "No other group and contact management company has dedicated the resources, product functionality, and best practices that OnePIN has on privacy."

OnePIN has voluntarily submitted its privacy practices for review by TRUSTe since it’s launch in 2002, Its achievement of re-compliance with the Safe Harbor principles demonstrates OnePIN’s commitment to its customers privacy and security concerns. This re-certification required no changes in OnePIN's industry-leading practices.

The European Commission's Directive on Data Protection limits the transfer of personal data to non-European Union nations that do not meet the European "adequacy" standard for privacy protection. While the United States and the European Union share the goal of enhancing privacy protection for their citizens, their approaches to achieving that goal differ. The Safe Harbor framework was developed by U.S. Department of Commerce and the European Commission to bridge the gap in privacy approaches between the United States and the European Union and to provide a streamlined means for U.S. organizations to comply with the European Commission's Directive.
