MTN is first in Ghana to offer innovative Social Address Book solution

Boston, MA. January 31, 2012 — OnePIN, Inc., the world’s leading provider of mobile social address book solutions, today announced the successful market launch of the company’s CallerXchange social connection service to MTN Ghana’s base of over 10 million mobile phone subscribers.

CallerXchange enables subscribers to share their contact information with friends, family, and colleagues with one-click after phone calls. The service ensures that contact information in subscribers’ phonebooks is kept up to date, allowing users to keep in touch with people in their social networks even if their information changes over time. CallerXchange transforms a static phone book into an enriched, dynamic social address book.

MTN is currently distributing CallerXchange as an embedded service on all new SIM cards offered in the market, in addition to a massive over-the-air download of the application to existing subscribers.

MTN subscribers have found CallerXchange to be a very valuable social connection service – as uptake rates of paying subscribers have exceed double-digit figures. Since market launch, CallerXchange has outperformed the business case by over double the expected revenue.

MTN is the first among a number of operators who will be offering OnePIN’s CallerXchange service in Ghana, a country with a rapidly growing base of over 20 million subscribers. As the market leader, MTN controls nearly half of the country’s subscribers in one of the continent’s most vibrant mobile telecom markets.

“We are pleased to be working with an innovative company like MTN; they are committed to providing their customers with high value services and we are proud that they have chosen CallerXchange as a key service to enrich their subscribers’ mobile lives.” remarked Chris DeGrace, Vice President at OnePIN, Inc. “As the world’s fastest growing mobile phone market, Africa represents a strategic growth area for our company, and we are proud to be working with MTN in Ghana and various other MTN affiliates across the continent to help their subscribers transform phone calls into social connections.”.
