MaXapp is an application download boosting service. It allows mobile network operators to target groups of subscribers and promote the download of strategic applications either within their own app store or within other stores based on the operator’s objectives.   Moreover, MaXapp is a service that mobile operators can offer to Enterprises that enables a unique way to promote brand specific applications to consumers.

MaXapp makes it easier for Enterprises to provide targeted applications to mobile subscribers. After a call to a specific phone number (for instance, after a mobile subscriber calls Lufthansa to make an airline reservation or check on the status of a flight), the service recognizes the phone number and automatically prompts the subscriber to download the Lufthansa mobile application.  Subscribers who opt to download are able to do so with a few simple taps on their screen.  Subscribers with basic feature phones can also easily download by clicking on a link which brings them to the download site for the specific application.  The SIMplicity Cloud ensures that the correct application type is delivered to the subscriber, based on the subscriber’s phone operating system.  Subscribers can easily download new applications specific to their device.

The timing of the international service launch coincides with the significant growth of smartphones which continue to penetrate all segments of the mobile market. Data packages are becoming a “need” when subscribers consider their personal budgets.  Providing useful applications in a targeted manner that are easy to access is a key factor in growing and maintaining a loyal subscriber base.

Benefits of the service extend across the value chain. Subscribers receive timely notifications of new and useful applications specific to their device type that are ready to download.  Easy “remind me later” and single-click opt-in and opt-out options make the service flexible and ensure that only interested subscribers participate.  Operators increase their data revenues by driving downloads of new applications, and Enterprises (“brands”) can push strategic applications to a targeted base of subscribers.  The service is relevant for any subscriber type (prepaid, postpaid, corporate subscribers, mass market, etc).
